Description of Work

I am currently the Senior Photographer at Smithsonian American Art Museum (March 2022 to present). However, from 2014 to 2015, I was a contract Conservation Photographer, and I photographed artworks in the museum's collection undergoing extensive conservation treatments (before, during, after, details, and UV) in the Lunder Conservation Lab.

• General conservation photography of artworks in all mediums (paintings, paper, jewelry, sculptures, objects, furniture).

• Photography conservation documentation of large-scale paintings by artist, Romaine Brooks, in preparation for exhibition: The Art of Romaine Brooks (2016).

• Photography & videography of painting/performance piece Snails Space by David Hockney pre-conservation of new light installations (2016).

• Assisted with photography (pre- and post-conservation) of photographs for exhibition: No Mountains in the Way: Photographs from the Kansas Documentary Survey, 1974** (2016).

• Photography of sculptures from the Renwick Gallery in preparation for re-opening post building renovations: Connections: Contemporary Craft** (2015/2016).

• Photography conservation documentation of Mingering Mike artworks-on-paper in preparation for exhibition: Mingering Mike's Supersonic Greatest Hits (2015).

• Photography conservation documentation of James Castle paper artworks in preparation for exhibition: Untitled: The Art of James Castle (2014).
